Let’s delve into the captivating tale of Max It Out Leds:
Max It Out Leds: A Journey of Innovation and Durability
|
In the year 2013, in the heart of innovation and rugged determination, Max It Out Leds emerged from the quiet corners of a basement workshop. The creator of Max It Out Leds huddled over a workbench, pondering a critical question: “How do we make a navigation light unbreakable?” Armed with little more than LED light strips, wire, a carbon arrow shaft, and a soldering iron, the journey began. The goal was clear: design an extreme navigation light that defied conventional norms. The first model, affectionately named “The Springer,” utilized a CB antenna spring mount. It faced grueling tests—tree limbs clawing at it as we bow fished close to the shore. Yet, durability prevailed, and the light stood tall, undeterred. The bowfishing community took notice, urging us to sell these remarkable lights. From Basement Workshop to Market We launched a website and started selling The Springer. Remarkably, it gained traction. Our ambitions grew, and we decided to market the light to boat manufacturers. Emails were sent, but responses were scarce. Persistence led to a breakthrough—an email from a guy at Gator Trax boats expressing interest. The Kent Saxon Connection A phone call ensued with Kent Saxon, the man behind Gator Trax boats. He had wrestled with creating a rugged stern navigation light years prior. When I described our light’s durability—how it could withstand a beating and still function—he was intrigued. We agreed to ship a light to him for inspection. A Verbal Gentleman’s Agreement Kent loved the light but had a concern. His boat design couldn’t accommodate a spring-mounted light due to operator positioning. We needed an alternative. Back to the drawing board! Research led us to a patent design that allowed 360-degree movement. Another product from Ram Mount seemed promising. Testing and Coast Guard Approval Parts arrived, and testing began. The light shaft was attached to the mount, and we swung it like a pendulum. It gave way, unbreakable. Kent was sold—100 lights ordered! But celebrations were short-lived. Kent reminded us: “Coast Guard approval or bust.” The Final Hurdle Research led us to a testing facility. The first test failed due to brightness, but we persevered. Reverse engineering and redesigning with different LED chips paid off. The Extreme Navigation Light model 002-WW-12 was born—a 360-degree rotation without a spring mount. It became the “Best Stern Light Ever.” Best Stern Light… EVER! Well another Kent Saxon discussion “I will show you how to sell this light man” and Kent shoots a video beating the hell out of the light LOL. The video is still on YouTube, and it definitely help us launch our product! Thanks Again , Kent Saxon Randy Deven And so, Max It Out Leds continues to illuminate the waters, guided by innovation, determination, and the spirit of adventure. |
